Clarks was founded in 1993 by Alastair and Jill Clark and now, along with co-director Pierre Leger, is firmly established as one of the country's leading speciality food suppliers ranking the country's top hotels and restaurants, including many Michelin establishments and fine food retailers in its client base.

With over 2000 lines ranging through oils and vinegars, olives, charcuterie, patisserie products and chocolate - the emphasis has always been on the best quality whilst assuring value for money. We lead the way in bringing new and innovative products to the chef. And import directly from France, Spain and Italy as well as working closely with Scottish producers.

It was with the greatest sadness that we heard of the passing of Jeff Reade - maker of Isle of Mull cheddar.

"I first met Jeff and his wife Christine over 25 years ago when I first tasted their amazing cheddar. It has been our pleasure to continue to work all these years with Jeff and Christine. They made a charming couple and worked incredibly hard. They not only made fantastic cheese, but were never afraid to take on big projects. Their beautiful farm on the Isle of Mull is testament to that with the amazing iron framed greenhouse that they added having salvaged it from a scrap yard. They then built, themselves, a swimming pool which they heated with the recycled hot water used to heat the cheese vats and also built a hydro generating system that supplied all their power and still provided another 60% to be sold back the grid, this included dynamiting a loch to provide enough water. Jeff has left a fantastic legacy and our thoughts and best wishes are with Christine and the rest of the family."
